Fendi Spring Summer 2011

I loved the colour palette in this Fendi Spring Summer 2011 collection: the red, blue, and turquoise, but I didn’t feel that the collection had the class or sophistication we expect from Fendi.

I love…

a shiny blue suit with a giant sleeve.

a rounded shoulder and a very interesting pocket/hip detail.

a shiny striped skirt and fabulous glasses.

I loathe…

a very boring first look for the show.

outfits that make models look frumpy and fat.

too many frills and silliness for Fendi.

Just looking at your selections, the collections seems all over the place. The first look while certainly interesting in cut and proportions doesn't feel very Fendi in the choice of fabric. The second look I'd expect to see from someone like de la Renta (or even Dior) when they're trying to do edgy ladylike chic. The third look wouldn't be out of place at Marc by Marc Jacobs. I have to disagree with you about the opening look, I thought it was absolutely gorgeous with just enough detail going on to keep it interesting – I can see a woman getting repeated wear from it. That red look as you've right pointed out is a mess while the belt on the sixth look seems to be making quite the appearance this season. Looking forward to your take on Prada.
