L’Wren Scott Spring Summer 2011

I am a bit bored of the tight, lean dress silhouettes in every L’Wren Scott show, as well as the tight tailored jacket + fluffy collar + pencil skirt combo. But this show was quite refreshing as there were some new shapes as well. She experimented with some pretty wrap shapes and loose short sleeves, which made for a nice change.

I love…

a shiny, metallic, short-sleeved evening coat. Looks great worn casually with white pants too.

the new Cheongsam, with a loose, wide sleeve.

this sweet little wrap dress. Love the collar, the piping, and the big patch pockets. So cute!

I loathe…

the "L'Wren Scott" suit. I am bored of this look, but I guess if it sells, it stays.

It is indeed a pleasant change (especially for a more clement season) to what one expects from L'Wren Scott. However, I am absolutely delighted to see that the L'Wren Scott signature-statement suit remains. Her jackets – as ever – are stunning, the selection of fabric is inspired and the tailoring exquisite. Due to these jackets, skirts and especially the fabulous figure-hugging dresses Ms. Scott produces season after season, she continues to be One of The Best. Congratulations.
