Good Things come in Boxes

Well, tomorrow is Christmas and, like every Christmas and birthday, I suppose my first choice of present would be an orange box. I take after my mother (who loves the orange box, but only second to the red box), who always used to say “You know it is going to be a good Christmas when there is a red box.”

So here are a few of the recognizable boxes I would be happy to to accept tomorrow… Although I suppose it is what’s on the inside that counts… What are you hoping for?

The orange box from Hermès. I'll take anything from Hermès. ANYTHING.

My mother's favourite, the red box from Cartier. I'll take one of those pieces of jewelry shapes like a panther..

Another good sign, the Chanel bag (can be in black or white.)

I love the pale blue of the Lanvin packaging.

Another famous blue, the Tiffany's blue. I love their Elsa Peretti Cabochon rings.

Last, but not least, the BEST looking shoe box in the world, from Azzedine Alaïa. And the contents aren't bad either.

One day I’ll tell you about the GIANT orange boxes we opened on our wedding day. I of course was having heart palpitations, while my husband was cluelessly untying the brown bolduc ribbon… The orange box meant nothing to him…yet. A great day!

And Merry Christmas!
