Lanvin Menswear Autumn Winter 2011

Usually I don’t get incredibly excited about Lanvin’s menswear, as I feel Alber Elbaz’s genius doesn’t really translate as well to menswear as well as it does womenswear. But this show was an exception, the cuts and clothes were very beautiful and the Lanvin-esque colours worked so well in this collection.

I love…

Lanvin, Alber Elbaz, menswear, autumn winter 2011, fall 2011, menswear catwalks, fashion shows, mens suits

a slim cut coat with distinguished epaulettes.

a WOW sleeve-chest detail.

a barbed-wire style belt and a strangely placed collar.

a colour combination that should theoretically look terrible on a man...but somehow works.

I loathe…

Lanvin, Alber Elbaz, menswear, autumn winter 2011, fall 2011, menswear catwalks, fashion shows, hats

those stupid hats!

the sheer white sweatshirt and pants that are just too wide and voluminous.
