Gucci Autumn Winter 2011

I am surprised how much I love this Gucci collection. Yes, there were a few tacky seventies references and a few too many VERY high slits on dresses, but overall, it was quite beautiful. Frida Giannini describes it as “hippie chic,” I would say it is more elegant disco. Think long, glamorous dresses and chic daywear. A special shout out goes to the furs, in the most stunning of colours which have been piled on to nearly every single look.

I love…

all the full length satin dresses in this collection. They are a bit predictable for Gucci, but they do look good.

an elegant leather coat with a beautiful contrasting fur collar.

these pretty dresses that look like they've been inspired by Ossie Clark.

those colours, what a beautiful combination of tones.

flower sleeves.

I loathe…

this tacky coat which reminds me of something you'd buy very cheaply in a market. The collection is quite chic, and this does not fit in.
