Jil Sander Autumn Winter 2011

After Jil Sander‘s amazing spring summer 2011 collection, there was bound to be a few disappointments. And while this collection was not a huge disappointment, it was certainly not as strong as the previous season. The beautiful rounded silhouettes that Simons showed last season were back, but the show was also let down by some very mundane slim pant suits, knitwear that looked completely out of place, and some silly padding.

I love…

a clean, simple box jacket.

a belted red dress.

perfect lines.

I loathe…

some of the knitwear on in this show. It doesn't feel very Jil Sander, or very special at all.

these boring slim suits.

padded clothing. It looks great on a model, or for a puffa jacket, but other than that it has little appeal.

a disappointing way to end the show.
