Michael Kors Autumn Winter 2011

This Autumn Winter 2011 show was a special collection for Michael Kors, he is celebrating thirty years in business. It is pretty amazing that he has been doing virtually the same thing (simple, classic, fairly minimal American sportswear) for thirty years, and yet he still manages to stay relevant. I am not surprised that Kors was once creative director at Céline, but I guess the timing wasn’t right. A lot of these pieces would sit perfectly next to Philo’s recent Céline collections: gorgeous, minimal luxury clothing that looks expensive. Congrats to Kors for 30 great years.

I love…

a gorgeous poncho-style tunic. And that choker is fantastic.

what Michael Kors does with fur. This coat is sublime.

the perfect "American sportswear" full-length dress.

this super deep V-neck top matched with a flat front, wide-leg trouser.

I loathe…

a drop-crotch evening pantsuit.

magnificent! Great stuff, you’ve been keeping me well informed miss. There’s simply too many shows all at once. In other words you’re a great ‘quality filter.’
