Victoria Beckham Autumn Winter 2011

So Victoria Beckham has decided to go beyond her skin tight dresses and show more loose silhouette and (gasp) coats! Wow, it seems she is starting to realize that not everyone wants tight dresses! So on top of the usual slim silhouette dresses (same, boring shapes as the past few seasons), Beckham also showed some looser silhouettes and a couple coats. Yes, there were a couple of interesting shapes, but everything seemed like it was taken from another designer. I know that is what many brands do, but aside from her signature, boring tight dress, there is not a single piece that would be worth buying from her, when someone else does it better (and to be honest, if I wanted a tight cocktail dress I’d go to L’Wren Scott for that.) Her work is that of a brand who “inspired” themselves from all of the other major, accomplished brands (with REAL designers at the helm) without actually having a real signature. Long story short, Victoria Beckham, your brand has no identity and you are a waste of space.

I love…

an elegant, simple dress.

a cute grey sweater dress, but there is absolutely no reason to go to Beckham for this, other designers do it better.

I loathe…

when Beckahm tries something new by showing shapeless dresses.

more shapeless dresses!

a cheap, toned down version of something a Japanese or Belgian designer would do.

when Victoria Beckham tries to do something edgy, and it ends up looking totally wrong. I wouldn't wear this if I was a size 0, or if I was nine months pregnant. It is ugly.

“Long story short, Victoria Beckham, your brand has no identity and you are a waste of space.” hahahaaa AMAZING!

i don’t know what’s worse – her ‘designs’, or the fact that everyone in the industry is now raving about it…

It actually makes me physically sick that she is being taken seriously in
the fashion industry. Maybe I should go into construction instead.

A few of the pieces are really beautiful but I just can’t… go to that dark place. I’ll pretend that I never saw that red dress.
