Well, everyone told me the Academy Awards were boring, and I won’t disagree with that, when it comes to the dresses.

Left, Cate Blanchett in Givenchy Couture. It is so nice to see one of these dresses on the red carpet. Celine Dion in Armani Privé. I never though I'd say something ncice about Dion, but she looks great in this dress, even though it is a bit too tight.

    Marchesa = death by boring evening wear.

    And to answer your question, everyone insists on wearing the same Marchesa
    dresses because Harvey Weinstein is involved and he is a big wig in the film
    world.

    I keep looking back at that red Calvin Klein dress, trying to answer the same question you had. I think I’ve come to the conclusion that if it had been accessorized differently (shoes, jewelry, etc. – even more of a ‘statement’ bag) it might not have seemed too simple, but as it is, it’s just a little bit too plain. I feel as if it’s like a really gorgeous canvas that is missing a focal point.

    I think Amy’s dress was nice, but with so much sequins why does she need that necklace I cannot understand and that ruins the look for me. I love love love Cate Blanchett.
    Regarding the Calvin Klein dress – I think it is too simple for the Oscars, someone somewhere compared it to Baywatch, really it reminds me of Pamela Anderson’s red bathing suit.
