Giambattista Valli Autumn Winter 2011

I am usually a lover of all things Giambattista Valli so I was sad to see this show wasn’t a very strong one. He started the show with some very minimal, boring looks (without the Valli flare), followed by some very scary-looking fur pieces. (And it takes a LOT for me to dislike fur.) The prints were beautiful, and there were a few gorgeous dresses, but this show certainly did not live up to my very high expectations for this designer.

I love…

a very beautiful floral print.

angular sleeves.

finally! Some Valli ruffles and soft femininity we all love so much.

petal peplums.

I loathe…

leggings as pants. A very weak opening look.

a really unattractive colour palette.

an unflattering way to mix furs.

that a fur lover like me can be so put off by these fur pieces.
