It is such a joy to discover something that takes your breath away, a body of work that makes you want to do something creative (instead of sitting in front of a computer all day and writing about the creative things other people have done.) Aoi Kotsuhiroi‘s work is just that. Her jewelry is made of horsehair, hand-sewn buffalo leather, antique roman 24-K gold beads (circa 100-400) and scratched urushi lacquered horns. Imagine owning something that has elements that are over 1500 years old! The shoe’s heels are made from the same horns, combined with leather and cherry tree wood. Everything is one of a kind. I barely have the words to describe how beautiful, precious and exotic each piece is, so I’ll let the photos from her website do the talking.
By the way, I didn’t manage to do a very good editing job here, so there are tons more photos if you click on the link. Paris Fashion Week coverage starts tomorrow.
