Miu Miu Autumn Winter 2011

Sorry to Sonia Rykiel, Ungaro, Viktor & Rolf, L’Wren Scott, Halston, and many others whom I did not write reviews for. These are all brands worthy of coverage on Sfs, so I promise to do something…soon. But right now I am too ecstatic that I am reviewing the Miu Miu shows, because that means FASHION WEEKS ARE OVER!!!!

Unfortunately, not over on a good note. This Miu Miu shows was a stream of bad 80’s power dressing and huge shoulders, but without a strong modern or contemporary angle. I know Miuccia Prada uses a lot of vintage and retro references, but she usually does it successfully because she injects something new and fresh into her collections. Not this time.

I love…

the craziest thing I have seen done with fur this season. And there has been some pretty amazing fur on these catwalks...

fur clutch bags!

I loathe…

an elastic waistband overskirt, with a giant bow? Is that what that is? It looks gross.

all this 80's power dressing. Why isn't there a designer who can do this in a good way?

a shapeless dress that looks like something you'd find in a thrift store for $5.
