I was so excited to hear that Giambattista Valli was going to be showing haute couture this season, he is the perfect designer to make the transition from ready to wear into haute couture. In fact, a lot of his ready to wear is very couture-like. This collection was very predictable, but in a good way. Valli’s signature rounded silhouettes, fantastic use of texture through heavily embellished fabrics, and a soft yet modern colour palette made up a beautiful debut couture collection.
