Bottega Veneta Spring Summer 2012

Bottega Veneta is usually one of my favourite shows but last season I wasn’t too impressed and unfortunately this season is no better. Gone are the simple, modern classics, and instead this collection featured a random mix of pieces more suited to a jumble sale than a luxury brand. It wasn’t a total loss, there were some very beautiful dresses in the show, but I feel Maier needs to clean things up a bit.

I love…

the knot and delicate pleat details on this pretty dress.

Bottega evening gowns: they are so elegant.

I loathe…

an outfit that looks more Cavalli than Bottega.

more Pucci/Cavalli. This is disappointing.

a tweed dress that looks like the wearer has thrown up some sort of hideous yellow and red embellishment all down the front.
