Marc Jacobs Spring Summer 2012

Call me old fashioned, but I don’t believe in making dresses out of plastic bags, and so therefore I wasn’t a fan of about a quarter of this Marc Jacobs collection. For me, the tailoring at the beginning stole this show, jackets and coats had interesting pocket details and sleeve cuffs featured strange but heavy fringe trims. The rest was the usual Marc Jacobs hodge podge, lots of fun little dresses and weird combinations. Aside from the plastic bags, this collection was actually pretty nice.

I love…

the cuff and waistline details on this coat, and the fact that it is worn over a very shiny, embellished dress.

black stay ups and the sweater and shirt combo, but that skirt is ridiculous.

the gathers and tiers of this dress.

cool sweatshirts.

I loathe…

dresses that look like they've been made out of plastic bags.

more of this cheap looking shiny fabric. Not nice.

I really hope he doesn’t get the Dior job. It just wouldn’t be right.
