Givenchy Spring Summer 2012

After last season’s scary prints and bad “sportswear”, Givenchy has come a long way. An incredibly long way, as this collection was nothing short of stunning. The tailoring was young, sexy, and modern, there were couture-esque jackets that demonstrated incredible cutting but didn’t become old or stuffy, and the whole show just felt so…right. Chic, young, modern, and with a hint of effortlessness, this is Givenchy spring summer 2012 and I love it.

I love…

slick, young tailoring and that super low lapel.

the perfect little tuxedo jacket.

couture cuts. After seeing this, I'd say Tisci might (MIGHT) be able to do Dior.

another amazing jacket. This is just gorgeous.

that Tisci has made Givenchy cool, young, slick, and wearable.

it’s great to see he FINALLY changed it up a bit. this collection seemed kinda a-wang to me.
personally this is one of my least favourite givenchy collections by tisci. this was much more boring and not super memorable/iconic than his previous collections. the only thing that is really memorable in this collection are all the labia-esque shapes that i feel there were too many and too many the same in different shades of pale colours.and can’t believe you didn’t add a certain sheer boob revealing LOATHE outfit (or two) up!

Yes, I’m tired of complaining of nipples on show. Its boring, apparently designers are too lazy to provide versions that people can actually wear in public. Alexandra Suhner Isenberg
