Louis Vuitton Spring Summer 2012

Kate Moss, a carousel, and a lot of white, that’s what dominated this Louis Vuitton show. The collection was heavy on the flower power patterns, which looked slightly cheap as a broderie anglaise, but quite beautiful later on a tweed and as appliques. I love the biker jackets, worn as coats and as suit jackets, and the silhouettes of the full skirts. Of course the only thing anyone can think about is…will this be Marc Jacobs last show for Louis Vuitton?

I love…

the silhouette of this suit. The low waisted full skirt and fitted jacket looks quite strange but in a good way.

the front panel of this dress, what a beautiful detail.

the biker coat.

overdoing the appliques, and the contrast of the black on the mint green.

I loathe…

this oversized broderie anglaise. Sorry, but I think it looks cheap.

I love the shoe, tryly, I do… the detailing was very nice. But I’ve got a concern here… wasn’t it a wee little bit chanel-esque?

It is a bit Chanel-esque, although its not fair to say everything with a contrasting tip is Chanel, is it?

Agree… but it reminds me of some seasons back, though… it’s the whole aurea of it, don’t know. It was very different from the LV point of view, and liked it.

yea but the merry go round AND all the tweed all connote to chanel. i LOVED the biker coats but could do without the surplus of hotpants or granny panties. i doubt this is marc jacob’s final collection for LV. pretty sure something like that wouldn’t go unannounced.
