Love: Atelier Versace Fall 2011

atelier versace, fall winter 2011, haute couture, evening wearI know I always say this, but why don’t we get to see more haute couture lookbooks? I always love looking at the Atelier Versace collection, and that is probably because we can really appreciate the clothes in these photographs, rather than just catch a glimpse of the detailing on a catwalk shot. I love the old school Versace prints in this collection (we’ll be seeing more of those in the H&M collection) and some of these shots give us a great view of the incredible handwork. The whole thing is slightly tacky-evening-wear chic, but then again, Versace can get away with that. Beautiful!

    JESUS THE LAST LOOK IS STUNNING. Beautiful dress. Also, I feel like I have never seen a photo of Kasia smiling.

    Even if haute couture is superfluous to the average consumer, the collections are important because they celebrate the sheer creativity of the designers. I’m not normally one for Versace but I love some of the shapes here, especially the skirts.
