Fashion has its fair share of ridiculous products, so it takes a lot to surprise me these days (it’s hard to beat the Jimmy Choo coffee cup sleeves.) But these Oscar de la Renta fur covered headphones, in collaboration with Beats by Dr. Dre, are shockingly dumb. My first thought was, how many DJ’s will need or want fur covered headphones if they are working in sweaty nightclubs? But then I realized, you could also wear these while listening to your ipod on public transport (although, I doubt anyone who can afford to waste $700 on headphones will be traveling on public transport.) Maybe keep your ears warm while you are blasting tunes during a jog? Not cool. After reading the description, I discovered it also has a hands free function, so if you didn’t want to bother with a built in bluetooth system in your car (mine cost $300 and doesn’t require putting on a fur monstrosity on your head), then you could drive around with furry headphones on AND have a conversation at the same time! It will make that drive to the nightclub where you are about to start DJing SO much more pleasurable. $695 from Oscar de la Renta.
