Versace Haute Couture Spring Summer 2012

I usually get a good look at the Versace couture show through the lookbook, which is a great way to see the detailing and construction of some of the world’s best made clothing. But this season they have returned to doing a catwalk show, which seems to have been a mistake. Gone are the days of beautiful, delicate handwork, instead we saw tacky stripper-esque dresses, distorted space-age detailing, and bra cups resembling spewing clams. I don’t know what went wrong here, but the primary colour of this collection was a dull grey or a dirty white, which seems to have summed up the mood quite nicely.
