Diane Von Furstenberg‘s new creative director, Yvan Mispelaere, (ok, new-ish, he has been there for a few seasons now) has certainly made an impact on the brand. Instead of happy, feminine separates and dresses, we now have a very serious and strict collection. Is this good? Well, it looks good, actually, it looks fantastic. But I don’t think that is what the DVF woman looks for when she shops there. I suppose they’ve hidden all the printed wrap dresses and the happy, fun pieces in the commercial collection, which may not have graced the catwalk, but will probably be in all of the stores.
