Donna Karan Fall Winter 2012

While there was nothing hugely offensive in this Donna Karan collection, I was quite disappointed with it. Considering the genius that was fall winter 2011 and fall winter 2010 (possibly my favourite collection of hers, ever), this was just not up to standard. The saviour of the collection was the interesting cuts and wraps on the tailoring and dresses, but the boring double breasted coats and pinstripe tailoring felt stale. And to top it all off (literally), the hats were incredibly lame.

I love…

a beautifully draped red wrap dress.

I loathe…

a boring pinstripe suit.

that there were far too many of these uninteresting double-breasted coats.

an unnecessary tuxedo.

why didn’t anyone stop the hats from happening?!?!

They were all too busy trying to stop the Marc Jacobs hats from happening. That was a more urgent situation.

I hate teeny tiny top hats… and those which have all sort of thingys gping or too… in this case, it made the clothes look cheap. And I completly agree with you. Normally the DKNY collections are much more modern and chic. Where has her vibe gone?
