Holly Fulton Fall Winter 2012

Ever since I saw Holly Fulton‘s FW11 collection in Somerset House during last February’s London Fashion Week, I have been slightly obsessed with her work. I love that she uses bold, graphics prints, but rarely overdoes them. I love her heavy, chunky embellishment. And I love her use of fur. While I was slightly disappointed at the fact that there was less fur than I had hoped in this collection (you can never have too much fur), this show didn’t disappoint. Fulton’s work does in many ways resemble her print contemporaries (Katrantzou, Erdem, etc…), but I find her designs stand out because they are modern, young, and fairly commercial. Maybe you won’t wear the 60′s graphic print shiny shift, but the sweater is any easy piece in any wardrobe.

I love…

a fantastic graphic print, that hasn't invaded the entire outfit.

Really pretty and complex take on prints, without being overly decadent.

PS. I’d like to hear your take on Meadham Kirchhoff. I just don’t get the hype.

The hype with Meadham Kirchoff is the show. They put on amazing shows, the one I went to, all the models came on at once, like a finale, all stomping. Then they left the stage. Then there was a pause. Then they all stomped out again. Paused, on the catwalk. Then they stomped off. Then it was over. Maybe 7 minutes long. Plus there was all sorts of weird shit on the catwalk. It was fun and exciting, that is the hype. Not the actually clothes… Don’t think I am going to bother reviewing…

I didn’t know about her (shame on me), but as you say, she’s bold yet not overly-done, and I can find many pieces I would love to wear (the 2 dresses you posted are awesome)
