Missoni Fall Winter 2012

The shawl is back, or, at least I have decided the shawl is back because Marni and Missoni have put these tightly wrapped shawl tops in their fall winter runway shows. In an industry where rarely anything feels new, this is quite exciting, because we haven’t seen a shape like this in, oh, say, 10 weeks? Ok, exaggeration, but you know what I mean. I feels new, even though it isn’t that exciting. And other than the “new” shawl shape, Missoni had lots of pretty zig zags and knits, as expected. But let’s just ignore The Hat.

I love…

a pony skin skirt, and the shawl shapes we have been seeing at the Milan shows.

that lovely shawl again, this time with a fur collar added.

that you can count on Missoni to do some outstanding patterns and textures in their collections.

I loathe…

that Missoni and Marc Jacobs are on the same page when it comes to making heinous, disgusting, furry Dr. Seuss-goes-pimp hats.

Pretty stuff, but where has all the color gone? After all, it’s Missoni.
