Everyone seemed to be so hyped up about the fact that George Lucas was at Rodarte‘s show. Sure, it might be marginally exciting if he is doing a movie and he plans on getting the Mulleavy sisters to design the costumes, but other than that, who cares? I mean, the guy isn’t exactly the most exciting celeb in the world, why was everyone so worked up about it? What WAS exciting was that Rodarte actually put together a beautiful, coherent, and elegant collection this season. Sure, there were a few pieces of ugly knitwear and unflattering cuts that have for some stupid reason become a signature of theirs, but most of the collection was actually very beautiful, while still incorporating some of their surprising fabric/texture combinations. I thought it was very beautiful, and if the prices points aren’t RIDICULOUSLY high (which they usually are, see here), then this collection might actually be a commercial success for them too.
I love…
