Zac Posen Fall Winter 2012

I am too lazy to test my theory, but I am pretty sure that if we were to look at the past ten seasons of Zac Posen, we would see that there was very little (read: none) evolution in terms of his design. Combine that with with fact that he is a cocky, egotistical designer, and basically, I don’t like him. This collection was utterly boring, with lots of form-fitting suits that feel extremely old, and a lot of tight, feminine dresses. Sure, some of them were nice, but most of them were boring.

I love…

interesting sleeve details and a very pretty full skirt.

I loathe…

an old, unflattering, and ugly outfit.

that Zac Posen doesn't seem to have evolved at all since he began designing.

lots of boring, tight, tailoring that feels incredibly dated.

random and meaningless Asian details throughout this collection.

a really tacky evening coat.

I love reading your commentary. So much more refreshing than the sycophantic drivel elsewhere. Please, never stop.

I always wondered why Zac Posen complained some seasons ago for not being taken seriously and now I do understand why really.. What he does I could call “The boring story of a rich granny living in a castle in the suburbs of Paris”. So right for the NO evolution or whatsoever to his aesthetic. I guess someone will soon be in Christian Lacroix shoes..
