So the latest rumours are that Raf Simons is not in fact going to Dior, and Bill Gaytten has signed another contract (I am trying to get info from my Dior contact as I write this, but they don’t appear to be in the know either. I knew about the Galliano fiasco before she did, because she was on holiday.) Anyway, I’m bored of the rumours and speculation, and I am going to stop having fearful heart attacks every time a new rumour comes out (Christopher Kane at Dior?!?! God help us!!!!) because they are all false leads.
And that is fine, because Gaytten seems to be doing a fine job where he is. This collection was lovely, nothing crazy or spectacular, just really nice Dior clothing. Which is probably why they are making so much money, the journalists might not be loving it, but it is exactly what the customer wants.
