Lanvin Fall Winter 2012

It has almost become unpleasant to look at the Lanvin collections: look after look of fashion perfection, and almost impossible to re-create on my budget. I think I need to get my sewing machine out and start coping Alber Elbaz’s designs. This collection was the anniversary of his ten years at Lanvin, and he celebrated by showing all the beautiful things we have come to expect from Lanvin: gorgeously simple cocktail dresses with ruflles and gathers in all of the right places, incredibly bold statement jewelry (and he added in some amazing belts, too) and sculpted tailoring that screams luxury and elegance. I suppose we could say that Lanvin is untouchable.

I love…

i didn’t like the colour + lace looks. am i the only one who thinks lanvin is eye rollingly overrated? i loved lanvin when they were more underrated and when tilda swinton wore them on red carpets and made people go wtf. i’m still bitter about pilati :/ as i feel like his collections were amazing and it’s too bad his name has some negative prejudices paved by some immoral persons >:( and let’s get real, lanvin has been doing somewhat the same shit for several seasons now. as beautiful as his work is, it’s time to change things up. is nobody else getting bored a bit bored? his mens collection have been showing more innovation imo and interest.

still can’t get over how garish that last photo looks, she looks pretty bad there.

I think we will just have to agree to disagree about our feelings for Lanvin. Yes, he has been doing similar shapes for several seasons, but they are beautiful and they work.
