This may come as a surprise, but there are moments, rare moments, that I disapprove of an item from Hermès. And today it is these jogging pants, which are just hideous. I have no problem with the fact that they are $2,075, and are made from 80% cashmere and 20% sable. In fact, that seems like the best possible fabric to wear while lying around the house. Why aren’t there more items of clothing made from this “ultimate” yarn? I also don’t have an issue with people who spend that kind of money on loungewear. If you are wealthy, you may as well indulge on the clothing you slob around in, as well as the clothing you wear out.
The problem here is the design, whose cut is similar to something an eighty year old would wear. What’s with the elastic waistband? The high waist? And the tapered, but not slim, leg? Could they not have designed something a little bit more flattering? I wouldn’t be caught dead in a cut like this, even if it was freezing on the day I got back from hospital with a newborn and a C-section wound. I’d just wear some leggings.
