Nina Ricci Fall Winter 2012

I want to love Nina Ricci because Peter Copping was one of the guys I hung out with in my Paris days and he is the loveliest, nicest person. And of course, I also think he is talented and the right man for the job. However this show was not his best. The delicate, feminine attitude of the brand was roughened up a bit, but rather than look effortlessly cool, it looked a bit Courtney Love train trash. However, closer to the end, things were a bit more refined and started to look a lot better. It’s not like I have have lost hope or anything, I just wish he didn’t let things get so sloppy at the start.

I love…

the perfect little LBD.

the idea of lingerie-esque dresses worn with coats for Nina Ricci. But this feels a bit too Courtney Love-ish.

this gorgeous plum colour, the asymmetrical fur collar, and girls looking feminine but strong.

pretty dresses with bows.

I loathe…

when Nina Ricci looks sloppy.

that I really don't understand what is going on with this dress. And it looks as sloppy as the last one.
