The Chanel show started with a lot of boring suits and dresses. I guess this is a big part of Chanel’s couture business, but I don’t see why we need to see so many of them. There were way too many non-descript suits and separates that weren’t worth sending down the catwalk. In fact, aside from a few beautiful shapes and detailing, this show was rather disappointing. Very few pieces were “show-y,” and the rest weren’t outstanding examples of perfect, classic tailoring or elegant evening dresses. Instead, it all felt very… blah. But of course, I am sure Karl knows what he is doing. That’s probably what the Russians, or the Chinese, or the Arabs want, and I guess they are the ones paying his salary right now.
I love…
I loathe…

these boring check suits and dresses. This looks like the kind of thing you’d pay $200 for in a store.

what looks like a costume from a period film. Alexa Chung might be able to pull this off, but anyone else would look like they were stuck in a fairytale.
