Valentino Haute Couture Fall Winter 2012

Something happened with this Valentino show that I really don’t like, I saw some reviews about it before I had the chance to have a look myself. That usually tends to affect my opinion a little, and in this case, I read it was amazing, so I went in expecting amazing. Good thing is, they amazed. This truly was a beautiful collection. Aside from a few 80’s-ish sparkly separates, the dresses, both “day” (what couture calls day is not what the rest of the world would call day) and evening, were show-stopping beauties. The use of sheers, movement, and embellishment really made this show a pleasure to look at.

I love…

a seriously WOW dress.

elegance defined: a long-sleeved navy blue satin gown.

heavy embellishment on a pink satin, this can only work in couture.

that they spared us too much Valentino red, save for three show-stopping looks. (But is that a nipple I see?)

I loathe…

a sparkly, tacky one piece.
