Acne Spring Summer 2013

Although Acne tries to distance themselves from jeans, I still see them as a casual wear brand, and I hope their collections are going to be full of the perfect pieces we need in our everyday lives: great jackets, well-cut pants, easy shirts, and statement coats. Unfortunately, this season there was a severe lack of the above, and the collection focused on things we don’t need: full length kilts, bad logo tees, weird evening gowns, and far too much deconstruction.

I love…

a grass green jacket with jailbird sleeves.

the amazing sleeve drapes on this jacket.

more sleeve love.

I loathe…

a poor nod to Vivienne Westwood and Katherine Hamnett.

an unattractive jacket with a half snakeskin collar that resembles slime dripping down the front.

when Acne does Ann Demeulemeester.

double cowboy hats and stupid slogan t-shirts.
