Holly Fulton Spring Summer 2013

Holly Fulton does great bold prints and incredible embellishment, and this season is no exception. I loved the 3D roses and the rattan-like fabrics, plus the bright colour palettes make her collections seem so upbeat. But the best thing about this brand is that despite the very serious, intricate handwork, it all feels so easy. Unlike Erdem and Mary Katrantzou, who also do great prints, Holly Fulton doesn’t feel so precious. Rather than sit at a stiff tea party in her clothes, they look like the kind of thing you’d enjoy wearing and feel good in.

I love…

a very sexy cut out on a rose printed dress.

gorgeous graphic prints.

I loathe…

a tacky plastic jacket.

that this looks like something Henry Holland would show.

well some of the designs looks like dreaming Prada dreams at night. but this is definitely some casual couture – as written, the patterns doesn’t feel precious but look exceptional. the lightning is terrible which makes the presentation look a bit amateur-made, but the concept – just great! funny and attracting. http://doc-fashion.blogspot.com/

I’m glad you’re sharing my love of Holly Fulton and promoting her. She’s so underrated.

I think I get so excited about this brand because I saw her stuff in a showroom at LFW a year and a half ago, and got a real appreciation for her handwork. I guess it shows how important it is to see heavily embellished pieces in real life.

I tend to ignore things like lighting when I am reviewing shows, but yes, I know what you mean.
