Narciso Rodriguez Spring Summer 2013

This was another successful Narciso Rodriguez collection, featuring what he does best: simple, elegant, clothing for women who want to look a bit sexy but never vulgar. And while I wouldn’t exactly say I am swooning over this (its hard to swoon over these types of shows) I would like to pat him on the back for consistently presenting collections of clothing that makes women look good. You’d think that was a no-brainer, but many designers fail miserably at this very simple task.

I love…

that Narciso has found a chic way to show off a bit of bare midriff (because apparently, EVERYONE wants to show off their midriffs next summer. Ugh.)

a simple, colourful, pretty dress with the skinniest spaghetti straps ever.

a deep V that isn’t so deep it’s vulgar.

Narciso kind of grows on me with every season, because I’ve definitely started to appreciate his design ideas and his aesthetic as a whole. I put him and Reed Krakoff on the same level, because I find them quite similar in their quality and thought behind the pieces.

I would personally wear (and buy, if I had the money) 95% of this collection.
