While I loved Giambattista Valli‘s signature dresses and daywear, rich in texture but beautifully simple in design, but the number of sheer skirts really put me off. I was a nerd and counted them, and in a show of 46 looks, there were 10 sheer skirts. Sure, for production, they would probably put a lining. But the lining will totally change the look of the skirt, and it becomes a new design. So why not put the real version on the catwalk? Or at least reduce the number of un-commercial versions, as no matter how popular Valli may be, he is not going to convince many of his customers to walk around with their panties on show.
I love…
I loathe…
