Givenchy Spring Summer 2013

This was a rather unsurprising Givenchy collection, given that it pretty much showed a bunch of clothes that both suit the brand and are somewhat interesting, yet not groundbreaking. I didn’t like the clunky double-breasted jackets and the fact that many dresses were missing a sleeve, but otherwise those slick outfits sent down the runway were quite desirable. I’m not writing home about this, but I’m liking this modern sexiness a lot.

I love…

Givenchy’s modern ruffles. But can we get another sleeve on there?

the little pieces of metal hardware. They are cool, slick, and very luxury.

when someone does amazing things with taffeta. It is no easy feat.

I loathe…

I felt as if Tisci has lost heat. But that’s quite normal having in mind how groundbreaking his latest collections were.

Perhaps, but at least he is still designing good stuff. He can’t be brilliant forever.
