I started off loving this Stella McCartney show, but then all the ideas that were pleasing to the eye mutated to monstrosities. The amazing sheer sweatshirt evolved to chav-like tracksuit outfits that made me wonder if she was inspired by the London riots when designing this collection. The bright colours began to work against her, when put into outfits that were supposed to be a rendition of designer sportswear. But despite her Olympics uniform experience, this season McCartney failed at at capitalizing on the athletic wear references, miserably. There were also some dropped waists that were practically dragging on the floor (WAY too low), more of those pantsuit onesies (who REALLY wants to wear those?) and suits that can’t be called tailoring, as they didn’t tailor to the female body, they fought it in every way possible. Thank god this wasn’t beautiful because I loathe Stella McCartney and am resentful when her collections look good.
I love…
