I am sure there will be some readers who will think that I am being squeamish, but I find this campaign quite disturbing. I don’t have a problem with hanging around naked with your kids, nor kissing them on the lips (I personally don’t kiss my son on the lips) but I have a major problem with anyone who does this for a major ad campaign. It might be more acceptable for a magazine editorial (some of them are quite portrait-y and feel less commercial than this), but to pose like this for an outerwear company strikes me as ridiculous. Victoria Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio and her 4-year-old daughter Anja look lovely, but nudity does not exactly sell coats. Or maybe it does? But why anyone (especially someone whose net worth is $40 million and clearly does NOT need the money) would want this type of intimate family portrait being used for a commercial clothing campaign is totally beyond me.
