Christian Dior Haute Couture Spring Summer 2013

This was a beautiful Christian Dior haute couture show, and Raf Simons has done an excellent job of adding his handwriting to a legendary brand’s archive and image, rather than trying to turn the brand into his own. However, I felt it could have been a bit shorter, with a few less frouffy floral dresses and bustier tops.

I love…

that Raf Simons has made two things I loathe, strapless and iridescent fabric, look beautiful. And I love the black tights.

a very couture little black dress.

when couture looks casual and effortless but still like couture.

the t-shirt evening gown. We need more of these.

I loathe…

a few too many bustier and trousers outfits.

a really bad combination of colours.

frouffy gowns.

and I thought I was the only one that thought it was a bit toooo long :D It felt like a typical D&G 3-hour show :D But it wasn’t that bad :)

Too simple and plain. Looks like a his Ready to wear collection for Dior rather than I couture. He needs to level up.
