Definitely way more successes than fails in this Giambattista Valli show, which for the most part, showed off his elegant, feminine handwriting and his great use of colour and heavy embellishment. However, some of the appliqués were a bit overdone, and there were a few dresses in the show that were not special enough to be Valli. He should have stuck to the structured silhouettes and fifties-inspired evening wear with their beautiful full skirts and mid-calf hemlines.

couture flower power. This would be fine if it were a $100 dress, but not $10,000. Or probably more, since the details are intense. Plus, the model looks bulky, that’s never a good sign.
