Valentino is getting better and better right now, although I feel there were a few missteps in this show. It started off beautifully, with strong silhouettes, incredible laces, and tasteful odes to Valentino red. But the end was a bit…blah. Lots of tacky, super fancy dresses with an overload of embroidery and shiny fabrics, the kind of thing you’d expect to see at Elie Saab (and that’s not a compliment.)
