Dolce & Gabbana Fall Winter 2013

This was a very heavily embellished, ornate Dolce & Gabbana show, featuring religious imagery, Byzantine art, heavy crosses, a ton of embroidery, and a little bit of that sexy Sicilian woman, in the form of lace dresses with bras on show. Of course that last part was a bit tiring, why do designers always forget to put slips on underneath see-through pieces? It is boring. (It is also boring that they forgot the pants in a lot of outfits.) But other than that, this was a very, very beautiful collection. Oh, and p.s. Crowns are back in fashion!

all these see-through lace dresses. They are gorgeous, but the whole underwear and bras on show thing is tiring.

    ok, it was beautiful.. but they’ve been doing this same show for over 2 seasons at least. It will work, but up until when?

    I’m sick of Dolce & Gabbana. Repetitive and tiring and I don’t even think they’re trying anymore. The Valentino of Milan Fashion Week.

    I loved the red section of the show. Quiet repetitive. It is the same collection of the last one or the fall 12 but with different prints/theme. Yes it is beautiful but lacks creativity.

    On that note, many designers repeat ideas for a few seasons, and it has become somewhat accepted as ok. If you really like a brand, you don’t want it to change completely every season. The collection has evolved from spring summer a bit, enough for there to be some new pieces for their loyal customers. However, if Dolce & Gabbana are still doing this idea a year from now, then there will be a problem.

    Yeah, it’s repetitive. But the clothing is undeniably beautiful, so I’m okay with it.
