Donna Karan Fall Winter 2013

I have been so in love with Donna Karan‘s collections the past few years. This one was absolutely stunning, featuring a masterpiece of draped dresses (and I don’t frequently use the word masterpiece) and tailoring that looked like it was carved by a sculptor rather than sewn by a seamstress. This is signature Donna Karan, elegant, luxurious womenswear in rich tones of greys, and browns, featuring what appears to be some very expensive, fine fabrics. I wish I had the kind of life that necessitated this type of clothing on a daily basis (and the money. That would also help.)

I love…

a dramatic, sexy, amazing draped dress.

more draped perfection.

jersey and fur combined together for a super luxe evening gown.

I loathe…

that I can’t afford to buy this whole collection.

It surprises me that Donna Karan manages to be different every season. It is somehow surreal, knowing that her signiture are draped masterpieces as you called them. How she does it? I really don’t know, but she is damn good at it. For me, she (along with Micheal Kors and DVF) are the only real representatives of American fashion. Hands down.

Yes, she always amazes me. Her brand has quite a boring image (I think power suits and bodysuits), but the clothing is spectacular.
