Fendi Fall Winter 2013

I was bit a bit distracted with the mohawk hairdos in this Fendi show, which made everything look very punky. Because in reality, this show wasn’t very punky at all, aside from a few biker jackets, it was modern and somewhat classic. They showed a stupendous collection of fur and leather coats and jackets, which is exactly what you’d expect from a house whose specialty is skins and pelts. I heard that animal rights protesters stormed the Just Cavalli catwalk, but I think they were barking up the wrong tree. Fendi featured fur clothing, bags, shoes, and hair pieces, which was a giant eff you to the anti-fur activists out there. Hah!

I love…

the way Fendi finds ways to put fur on everything. This dress is lovely.

amazing fur intarsia. I can only imagine how long a piece like this must take to construct.

all the half belted, half fur outerwear.

For me every piece looked somehow big on those skinny models. I guess they would look better on real life women. Plus the usual yawn that Karl Lagerfeld makes me do.

I think Lagerfeld does better for Fendi than Chanel, though.

I agree. I don’t understand how can he make amazing clothes for Fendi and for Chanel those terrible and boring tweeds. Last collection was brilliant in my opinion. I love how Fendi works with leather and fur and at the same time it makes it modern.
