I haven’t reviewed L’Wren Scott for a while, but I thought this season was interesting because she is showing in London. She used to show in New York, but then last season she decided to do a presentation in Paris (which I am pretty was due to the fact that she wasn’t ready in time for NYC because her right hand had recently quit) and now suddenly she is showing in London. Why? I am presuming, like Burberry and Jonathon Saunders, she realised it is easier to be a big fish in London than a small fish in Paris.
While I’ve never been a huge fan of the brand and I think it is a bit boring, I can certainly appreciate the handwork of her collections and that she does seem to have a good understanding of her customer, who are frequently the A-list celebrities she used to style. But I do think she has had an unfair advantage in the form of a very famous boyfriend and she has not been afraid to flaunt her relationship with Mick Jagger. Anyway, this collection was pretty typical, with a lot of fancy embroideries and appliqués as well as a few tacky dresses, which I am sure we’ll see on the red carpet soon.
I love…
I loathe…
