Roberto Cavalli Fall Winter 2013

This has all the usual elements of a Roberto Cavalli show: fur, sparkle, glitz, mini dresses, and skinny flares worn with giant fur coats. But what made this show interesting was the colour palette, which was mostly black and greys, with a few dark blues and burgundys. Gone are the gaudy colour combinatiosn and overdoses of animal print, for me, the highlights were the metallic fabrics on dresses and tailoring, which captured this new classy, dark Cavalli.

I love…

dark Cavalli. All the ornamentation, fur, and glitz suddenly looks much more beautiful wen it isn’t in gaudy colours.

when Cavalli meets Chanel. (Lagerfeld should take note, this is a lot more interesting than the repetitive stuff he has been showing lately.)

slick, sexy tailoring.

the lightness of this skirt, the heaviness of the sleeves and bodice, the incredible fabrics, this is one hell of a gown.
