Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2013

After looking at the Louis Vuitton show, I referred back to the Marc Jacobs show to compare the two. Some of the crappy parts of the Louis Vuitton show looked familiar, notably the pajama dresses and the lack of pants. It appears Marc Jacobs had the same bad ideas for both brands, so I began to wonder, how the hell does he get away with this?

I love…

the only dress in this whole collection that was actually nice.

I loathe…

that someone has lost the pants this season, and they have yet to be found.

that Marc Jacobs also did a grunge look, but instead of dressing the young grunger that could wear Saint Laurent, he dressed the ex-grunger when she is 60 and doesn’t get out of the house much.

full length pajama dresses.

everything here. The hideous dress, the emaciated model, the ugly necklace, and the bad hair.

lingerie as outerwear. Really? This is so ten years ago.

the hair was awful, the clothes were awful, Marc Jacobs own outfit, sorry pyjama, was awful…that’s all.

The hair reminded me of the synthetic hair on cheap children’s dolls. This is just sloppy. You could take a louche theme and do it in a very elevated, refined way which Jacobs with all the Vuitton resources at his fingertips and not to mention an actual design team should have done. Perhaps he’s tired of fashion and weary and needs a big sleep, poor guy. Loved Celine and Dries this season and was actually impressed with Wang’s debut at Balenciaga – now I have to eat my words.

Me too. I was very pleasantly surprised at Wang at Balenciaga.
