This Sonia Rykiel show was off to a good start, but sadly went downhill from there. Disappointments included a lot of badly fit trousers, sloppy styling ideas, lack of pants, and sending the same outfit down the runway thirty times. I’m sad as this is a brand that has a formula, and has deviated so far from it that most people probably don’t even know what it is about anymore. How hard is it to do a show full of beautiful knits?

knit versions of double breasted jackets.
the poncho cardi, complete with fur pockets.
I loathe…
a black leather cape gone very wrong.
the no pants look! Why is this so popular this season?!?!
dowdy tailoring in pastel colours.
sheer sloppiness.
sending way too many models down the runway with similar sweaters and badly cut trousers. But I do like the sweaters, just wish those sheer flowers weren’t directly over the breasts.
