Here are my loves and loathes of the spring summer 2013 ad campaigns. There are a lot of them! So it is in three parts, read part two and part three.
Liu Wen and Caroline Brasch by Craig McDean for Oscar de la Renta. Since ODLR is famous for ballgowns, why not stick two of them, with giant skirts and fancy up-dos, in the ad campaign?
several models shot by Sarah Moon for Valentino. What a great choice of photographer.
Raquel Zimmerman by David Sims for Alexander McQueen. A bee theme to the collection = model covered in honey.
Cara Delevingne by Patrick Demarchelier for DKNY. This formula always works: an NYC backdrop, a city girl going about her business, and preferably a yellow cab.
Freja Beha Erichsen by Peter Lindbergh for Bottega Veneta. I like the smoky seriousness to this shot.
Natalia Vodianova by Mert and Marcus for Stella McCartney. What’s with the facial expression and the crotch shot?
Valerija Kelava by Angela Pennetta for Jimmy Choo. Slutty girl walks down the street showing too much leg. Meh.
Raquel Zimmerman by David Sims for Salvatore Ferragamo. Overly contrived poses rarely look good.
Malgosia Bela by Steven Klein for Alexander Wang. Models who look like Holocaust victims should never be shot naked.
